Working principle of folding machine
Feeding systems
There are two types of feeding systems used by folders: pile and continuous. The first is flat pile, in which thepaper is placed on a feeding table and each sheet is then transported into the machine by friction or an air-controlled suction-wheel. A variation of this is palletized feeding, in which an entire pallet full of paper may beplaced on the feeding table. The second type is called "continuous"; this involves the sheets being skillfully'rolled-out" onto a belt, on a table or rollers. An electric eye controls the belt speed, propelling the paper intothe machine, then each sheet is individually pulled into the machine by an air-controlled suction-wheel. Thesheets of paper will be separated by blowing air between them.
The folding machine is mainly composed of three parts: feeding, folding and collecting. The feeding part is responsible for separating and conveying the paper, the folding part completes the folding action of the paper, and the receiving part is responsible for collecting the folded paper.
1.Feeding part:
Paper separation: The paper feeding device separates the paper from the paper pile through the paper suction wheel or air nozzle, and only separates one sheet at a time to ensure the continuity and accuracy of the paper.
Paper transportation: The separated paper is transported forward through the conveyor belt or track system to prepare for the subsequent folding action.
2.Folding part:
Positioning: Before folding, the paper needs to be positioned vertically and horizontally to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the folding.
Folding action: Depending on the type of folding machine (such as knife-type folding machine, fence-type folding machine, etc.), the folding mechanism will use different methods to complete the folding action. For example, a knife-type folding machine uses a folding knife to press the paper between relatively rotating folding rollers, and then the folding rollers send it out to complete the folding; while a fence-type folding machine uses a folding fence and a relatively rotating folding sheet. The rollers and baffles cooperate with each other to complete the folding.
Multi-folding processing: For paper that requires multiple folds, the folding machine will send the paper to different folding positions through multiple folding actions and the cooperation of the conveyor belt to complete the second, third, fourth and other folding tasks.
