Paper Folding Machine

A folding machine is a machine mainly used for folding paper. Folding refers to bending a paper web or sheet under pressure in a straight line with sharp edges at prepared or unprepared bending points according to the specified size and folding layout.

Paper can be folded with a buckle or a knife; therefore, there are generally three types of folding machines: folding machines, knife folding machines, or a combination of these two types.

While the buckle fold is the more popular of the two methods, the knife fold is sometimes preferable. Folding machine models vary in complexity, with higher-end machines capable of handling more complex folding jobs and unusual paper forms (in terms of density and size).

Folding machines designed specifically for folding paper are often called origami machines. These machines are commonly used to create letter folds (C-folds) and accordion folds (Z-folds). Other common folding styles include half-fold, half-fold, double parallel fold, door (booklet) fold, and right-angle fold.
The folding type of the buckle folder is set by adjusting the folding plate. Most paper folders support multiple folding types. A right angle fold requires the paper to be rotated 90 degrees, also known as an 8-sheet or right angle. Additional folding is possible with 16-page and 32-page units.
Entry-level paper folders require manual adjustment of the folding plate and specifying folding settings on the folding plate. High-end paper folders will electronically adjust folding plates for increased precision and convenience. Both usually have micro-adjustment knobs for precise adjustments.
