Preparation before operation
Equipment inspection: Carefully check the appearance of the folding machine to ensure that there is no obvious damage or missing parts. Check whether the connections of each component are firm, especially the key parts such as the folding roller and the conveying roller. Check whether the power line is intact and whether there are any safety hazards such as damage or short circuit.
Cleaning equipment: Use a clean soft cloth to wipe the surface of the equipment to remove dust, paper scraps and other debris. Pay special attention to cleaning the paper inlet, folding area and paper outlet to prevent debris from affecting paper transmission and folding effects.
Material preparation: Prepare the paper instructions to be folded, ensure that the paper is flat, wrinkle-free, and non-adhesive, and the size and material of the paper meet the applicable range of the folding machine. For example, the gram weight of paper suitable for the equipment is generally between 35-200g/m², and the paper thickness is between 0.06-0.2mm.
Power on and parameter setting
Power on: Connect the power supply of the folding machine and turn on the power switch of the equipment. Observe whether the indicator light on the control panel of the equipment is normally lit, and wait for the equipment to complete the self-test procedure.
Folding method selection: According to the folding requirements of the paper manual, select the corresponding folding method on the control panel. Common folding methods include half fold, three fold, four fold, Z fold, etc. If the device supports custom folding settings, you can set the number of folds, angles and order according to actual needs.
Paper size setting: Enter the size information of the paper to be folded on the control panel, including the length and width of the paper. Some folders have the function of automatically detecting paper size, but to ensure accuracy, manual input is recommended.
Speed setting: According to production efficiency and paper quality, reasonably adjust the running speed of the folder. The speed should not be too fast to avoid inaccurate paper folding or paper jams; too slow speed will affect production efficiency. Generally speaking, you can first choose a lower speed for trial folding, and gradually adjust according to the effect.
Paper loading and trial folding
Paper loading: Place the prepared paper neatly into the paper feed tray, ensure that the edges of the paper are aligned, and the paper stacking height does not exceed the marking line of the paper feed tray. Some folders may need to adjust the width of the paper feed tray to accommodate different sizes of paper.
Trial folding: Before the formal batch folding, first conduct a trial folding of 1-2 sheets of paper. Observe whether the paper is stable during the transmission process, and whether there are any abnormal conditions such as paper jams and skew. Check whether the folded instructions are clear and neat, and whether the folding size meets the requirements.
Adjust parameters: According to the test folding results, fine-tune the parameters of the folding machine. If the paper is not smoothly transmitted, the pressure of the paper feed roller can be adjusted appropriately; if the folding marks are not clear, the pressure of the paper folding roller can be increased; if the folding size is inaccurate, recheck and adjust the paper size setting.
Formal folding
Start folding: After confirming that the trial folding effect is correct, press the "Start" button on the control panel, and the folding machine will start to formally fold paper instructions in batches. Operators need to pay close attention to the operation of the equipment and promptly discover and deal with possible problems.
Monitor operation: During the folding process, continuously observe the operating status of the equipment, including the paper transmission speed, folding effect, and whether the equipment has abnormal noise or vibration. At the same time, pay attention to collecting the folded instructions and ensure that they are stacked neatly.
Replenish paper: When the paper in the paper feed tray is about to run out, stop the machine in time and replenish paper. When replenishing paper, make sure that the placement and height of the paper are consistent with the previous ones to avoid affecting the folding effect.
Shutdown and cleaning
Shutdown: After completing the folding task, press the "Stop" button on the control panel to stop the operation of the folding machine. Then turn off the power switch of the equipment and unplug the power plug.
Cleaning the equipment: Use cleaning tools to clean the paper scraps, dust and other debris inside and outside the folding machine again. Wipe the folding rollers, conveyor rollers and other parts to keep their surfaces clean. At the same time, check whether the various parts of the equipment are damaged or loose. If there are any problems, record them in time and report them for repair.
Organize the work area: Clean the paper, tools and other items on the workbench to keep the work area clean and tidy. Store the remaining paper properly for next use.
Precautions
Safe operation: During the operation of the equipment, it is strictly forbidden to put your hands or other objects into the dangerous parts such as the paper inlet and folding area of the folding machine to avoid personal injury. In case of equipment failure or paper jam, the machine should be stopped before processing.
Equipment maintenance: Regularly maintain the folding machine, including cleaning, lubrication, inspection and replacement of wearing parts. Use appropriate lubricants and cleaning agents according to the equipment manual to ensure the normal operation of the equipment and extend its service life.
Paper quality: Use qualified paper and avoid using paper that is too thick, too thin, wrinkled or damp, so as not to affect the folding effect and equipment performance. Before using a new batch of paper, it is recommended to test fold it to ensure the compatibility of the paper with the folder.
